What is Flonase?
Flonase is used primarily to treat allergic rhinitis, more commonly known as hay fever or allergies. Flonase is a steroid nasal spray that has been proven to treat more symptoms than any other leading allergy medication.
Allergic rhinitis occurs when your body perceives tiny particles (allergens) in the air as "foreign" and mobilizes the immune system to fight them. Some common allergens are tree and grass pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and mold spores. Symptoms of allergic rhinitis include runny and/or stuffy nose, itchy and watery eyes, and sneezing.
If the allergic reaction is caused by tree and grass pollen, the symptoms are usually seasonal. If the reactions are caused by indoor particles, it can be a year-round nuisance.
